Explore the story of Burlington Heights through interactive, hands-on exhibitions

Step Inside Historic Battery Lodge

Burlington Heights, where Dundurn Castle and The Hamilton Military Museum now stand, was occupied by the British military from 1813 to 1815. Battery Lodge, built in the late 1830s as a gate house for Sir Allan MacNab’s Dundurn estate, originally sat atop an 1812 battery (cannon platform), overlooking York Boulevard.
