Celebrate Emancipation Day at Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum!
Every year on August 1st we celebrate the abolition of slavery across the British Empire. Join us as we recognize this important day and honour the life and legacy of Enerals Griffin, of Griffin House National Historic Site.
This family-friendly event will include performances by internationally recognized percussionist Walter Maclean, Canadian singer-songwriter and steelpan virtuosos Luckystickz, and local choirs, food trucks, activities, and opportunities to learn about Hamilton’s Black history.
Free outdoor activities. General museum admission rates apply. Tickets available for purchase in-person only.
Please Note: There will be no on-site parking for this event. Limited accessible parking spaces are available. Guests are encouraged to use public transit (HSR buses #43, #5, and #16) or park at Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre (357 Wilson St. E., Ancaster) or another nearby public parking location.
