Industry and innovation boomed in Hamilton during the 19th century thanks to a few key figures who ushered in exciting new technologies.
The Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology is partnering with Cemetery Chronicles for a tour that explores Hamilton’s journey from a city ravaged by cholera to a site of impressive technological advancement dubbed “The Electric City”. Join us as we delve into the unique history of technology in Hamilton and the lives of the people who changed the city forever.
Participants are asked to meet their tour guide at The Hamilton Cemetery Gatehouse at 777 York Blvd
These historical walking tours are offered free of charge. No reservations, rain or shine, dress for weather. We encourage you to bring comfortable shoes and water. Please note, there are no washroom facilities available.
