Catch a ride on a miniature train, operated by the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers! Various model engines will be running on the miniature railroad track at the museum. Make sure to head to the Pumphouse to learn about Hamilton’s steam-powered Waterworks, built in 1859.
FREE event. Museum admission by donation. Donations can be made by cash or credit card at the museum admission desk.

Witness the re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek of June 6, 1813, a significant turning point in the War of 1812. Bring the whole family for period games, demonstrations, historical music and food. Visit the merchants and military encampments and discover traditional pastimes. Tour Battlefield House built in 1789 and explore the 100-foot-tall Battlefield Monument opened on June 6, 1913. The event features Indigenous programming including a narrated ‘Great Peace Game’ of Haudenosaunee Lacrosse prior to each Battle Re-enactment on Saturday. NEW this year is a Drone Light Show at dusk on Saturday that will depict the National Historic Site’s history and interpret the Eagles Among Us sculpture, installed in 2014 to commemorate Indigenous contributions to the War of 1812. Free admission.

The Steam Museum is pleased to welcome the Canadian Society for Contemporary Iron Arts (CSCIA) for a public Iron Pour! Artists will be on site

The Steam Museum is pleased to welcome the Canadian Society for Contemporary Iron Arts (CSCIA) for a public Iron Pour! Artists will be on site forging pieces in a live furnace and demonstrating how to use scratch blocks to create works of art from cast iron. Visitors will be able to speak with artists, watch demonstrations, and purchase a scratch block to make their own iron designs on site (limited quantities available).
Enjoy this free event and free admission to the museum to view the amazing iron work of the 1859 Pumphouse engines and miniature train rides operated by volunteers from the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers club.
Furnace will be ready to pour iron at 2 pm.
Train Rides will be running from 11am to 3pm.
